Ep #39 - Marshall Terrill's 60s Pick - Bullitt
Cinema60 welcomes author Marshall Terrill to talk all things Steve McQueen. He should know; he’s written several books on the guy, including the definitive biography Steve McQueen: The Life and Legend of a Hollywood Icon. His most recent is a dynamic coffee table book, Steve McQueen: In His Own Words, full of rare photographs and quotes from the man himself–so many, in fact, that it’s as close to McQueen’s autobiography as we’ll ever get.
In this episode, Bart, Jenna and Marshall discuss Bullitt (1968) and its impact on both Steve McQueen as a movie star and the decade at large. Marshall shares his wealth of knowledge about the wild behind-the-scenes goings on, including some rather surprising connections between McQueen and both the Zodiac Killer and the Manson Family. Bart and Jenna just try to hold on as Marshall sends us soaring off Potrero Hill into the ultra-cool, ultra-masculine world of Steve.
